Changing the shape of teaching

In a new article out today (Monday 29 August) Lead CI Wes Imms tells of his experience as a primary school student that highlighted how significant a teacher’s use of the classroom space can be. As a  researcher he has investigated the key elements of school environments and how use of space can influence learning.

In the article  in the University of Melbourne’s online magazine, Pursuit, he explains why the ILETC project is focusing on helping teachers realise the potential for space and change their practices to maximise the opportunities for learning. Richard Leonard also contributed to the article (Director of A4LE and Hayball Architects – both our partners in this project) commenting on the importance of research informed design.
