Professional learning for educators teaching in innovative learning environments

The Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change (ILETC) project is excited to announce a series of wholly online microcredentials on Leading Change in School Learning Environments. The Melbourne Microcerts, which are the University of Melbourne’s unique microcredential offering, are small, highly accessible courses to equip educators in Australia and around the world with in-demand skills and knowledge to keep educators relevant and ready for the future.

The Leading Change in School Learning Environments series comprises of four Melbourne MicroCerts courses focusing on teacher practices and student learning in innovative learning environments and how to support leading teachers to engage and lead school communities to transition into innovative learning environments. The series are exemplary of research-led teaching—with the theoretical foundations of each of the course based on research undertaken as part of the ILETC project.

Developed in conjunction with the Melbourne School of Professional and Continuing Education (MSPACE), the series will incorporate design thinking methods as well as generative and collaborative activities to explore educators’ assumptions, surface beliefs and propose ideas within the context of innovative learning environments. At the completion of each course, participants will be awarded an information-rich digital certificate that can be shared with prospective employers and accrediting bodies digitally and via social media, such as LinkedIn. The first Melbourne MicroCert course will be launched later this year, with the first intake in 2021.
