Transitions18 Phoenix and Copenhagen – keynotes announced
We are excited to announce our keynotes for Transitions18 in Phoenix and Copenhagen. We are currently developing the program and will release further details in coming weeks. Further information here.
In Phoenix, Phil Idle, EIW Architects and A4LE International Chair (Elect) will provide an architect’s perspective on transition to innovative learning spaces.
Phil is a Director and one of the founders of EIW Architects, based in Perth, Western Australia. He has significant expertise and experience in the design and planning of educational facilities encompassing both the private and government sectors in Australia and has been recognized internationally. Phil is the Association of Learning Environments Chair Elect (International) and has honoured as the organisation’s Director of the Year in 2015.
In Copenhagen, Dr Julia Atkin, highly regarded education & learning consultant (Learning by Design) will provide provocations and insights from her work in education settings in Australia and internationally.
Julia’s work is characterised by an innovative approach that bridges the gap between theory and practice as well as linking education and design. Her initial research involved developing an understanding of the thinking processes involved in deep learning. Julia has worked for over 30 years with teachers, school leaders, designers and architects in all education contexts and received numerous awards, including those for educational facilities in collaboration with Mary Featherston, Hayball and Gray Puksand.
